In Capstone, students work with real clients on consulting projects, providing valuable services while gaining hands-on experience.

In Capstone, student teams work with real clients from around the world on consulting projects ranging from water infrastructure to impact investing to fundraising and strategic planning, and everything in between. In this mutually beneficial partnership, students provide valuable support to organizations while gaining hands-on experience and developing professional skills, such as project management, analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

Capstone is designed for second-year CIPA Fellows and it fulfills the professional writing requirement for the MPA degree. In this course, students have the opportunity to apply the lessons and skills developed in their foundation coursework in a real-world setting. Each semester, there are a wide range of projects with domestic and international clients. Students work in teams, often with Fellows from different concentrations and corners of the globe, to meet their clients’ goals and expectations.
